The Red Panda: A Rare and Endangered Treasure of the Mountain Forests 🐾 The Red Panda is a small, tree-dwelling mammal that lives in the mountain forests of the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. Although it shares its name with the giant panda, the red panda is not closely related to it. This unique animal has reddish-brown fur, a white face with tear-shaped markings, and a long, bushy tail with light and dark rings. About the size of a domestic cat, the red panda uses its long tail to help maintain balance while climbing trees.
